Mainland B.C. Day six and seven

Our morning visit to the Davison Country Farm near Vernon. We checked out the petting zoo. With donkeys, sheep, chicken....

And goats!

They also had a great play area.

Cool trucks!

Beautiful flowers.

And a great tour train, that informed us about the 20 different varieties of apples and the vegetables grown too; Peppers, pumpkins, squash, onions, tomatoes and much more.

In Vernon itself we met Brendon who was visiting his sister, Rhianne who owns a shop called Shambala.

We spent the morning with Brendon as we would have little opportunity to see him again before heading home to Scotland. Brendon and Calum on the Silver Star mountain chairlift.

Great views and a cool breeze made this a great afternoon activity.

More alpine flowers than we could count.

Brendon and the kids near the summit.

This picture of a deer was the last on the hill before the camera ran out of power. We crept very close to this hind before she calmly walked off into the forest.

Our last campsite at Steelhead Provincial Park on the edge of Kamloops Lake. We arrived just in time to have a late evening swim and watch the sun go down.

Early morning watering provided Calum and Zoe with some more water fun.

This was the shortest of the trains we spotted in the last two days! We are now on the road heading south west towards Whistler and Vancouver.

The Fraser River! Amazing rock formations and windy roads.

Lillooet Lake. A cool spot to stop off and throw some rocks. Whistler mountain range in the background.

In our private gondola! The first of 5 different chairlifts to get to the top of Whistler Mountain and back down again.

Looking back on the growing hub of Whistler.

The Peak 2 Peak cable car! The longest unsupported cable car in the world at over 3km of unsupported cable. The total length is over 4 km long.

The kids at the summit of Whistler. 7155 feet!

Looking down on Whistler.

Checking out the views!

Playing in the snow under a blue sun filled sky.

Big mountains.

On the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. The worlds longest unsupported cable. Total length is over 4.1 km long (over 3km unsupported).

We made it across!

Calum and Zoe soaring high!

We needed to take two of these chair lifts to get back down to Whistler.

Checking out the snow melt river temperatures in Whistler as the ground temperature was about 32 degrees after a cool 18 degrees at the summit!

En route back to The Vancouver Ferry on the Sea to Sky Highway . Zoe took this shot as we stopped near Brackendale to check out the views and cool off a bit.

Calum took this shot with a glacier in the background.

Nice rock formations just outside Vancouver.

Waiting for the ferry at Horseshoe Bay to go back to Nanaimo on V.Island. We missed the 5.30 and 6.55 crossings due to heavy traffic and the 7.30 was 30 minutes late which meant we didn't get back to Peter's until after 11 pm.
