This was our first family walk in a forest with signs warning of bear activity.
After walking an hour into the trails without seeing any other people the reality of the 'what would I actually do?' hit home. I was walking in that calm but hyper vigilant way, holding my little orange whistle like a charm. Luckily Calum and Zoe were making enough noise to frighten off all but the most deranged wildlife.
